The instrument cluster is the panel behind the steering wheel that shows your speed, fuel level, warning lights and trip information. This is part number 78100-T5A-J013, a Japanese-market cluster for the third-generation Honda Fit (GK3), the model most commonly imported into Kenya. It reads in km/h. You'd usually replace the cluster when the display goes dark or flickers, the needles freeze or jump around, the fuel gauge stops reading correctly, or the backlight fails so you can't see your speed at night. Water leaks and electrical faults after accident repairs can also damage it. Match the part number before you order. Honda made several clusters for the Fit, and they differ by trim, gearbox and whether the car is a hybrid. Look for the sticker on the back of your old cluster: it should read 78100-T5A-J013. If yours shows a different number, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll help you find the right one. About mileage: a replacement cluster may not show your car's actual mileage. Write down your current reading before the swap, and keep it with your service records. Have a mechanic who knows Hondas fit it. The cluster comes out from behind a trim panel and plugs into one connector, but some cars need the new unit set up with a diagnostic tool afterwards.
