Oil Filter for Mercedes-Benz M270 / M274 Engines – C200, C180, E250, GLK, A-Class (A2701800109)

This is the oil filter element for Mercedes-Benz cars with the M270 and M274 four-cylinder turbo petrol engines, fitted to most C200, C180, E200, E250, GLK 250, A-Class and CLA models built from 2012 onwards. It's part number A2701800109. On these engines the oil filter isn't a metal canister you screw on. It's a paper element that sits inside a plastic housing on top of the engine, and you replace only the element at each service. A clean filter keeps grit and metal particles away from the turbo and the timing chain, both of which are expensive to repair on these engines. Change it with every oil change. Turbo petrol engines run hot, and on dusty roads or in stop-start traffic the oil gets dirty faster, so don't stretch the service interval. A clogged filter can't clean the oil properly, and the engine wears out sooner. Check your engine before you order. This filter fits the M270 and M274 only. Older W204 C180 and C200 Kompressor models (M271 engine, up to about 2013) and the diesel CDI and BlueTEC engines use a different filter. To fit it: unscrew the housing cap on top of the engine, pull out the old element, replace the O-ring on the cap, press the new element in and screw the cap back to the torque marked on it.
